Prices & Policies
Independent
Rentals
Because the 2005 season will be our first full season at Waipahi
River Home, we are offering independent visits this coming year
at a special introductory price of only $150 a night for a group
of any size (one to six people), with a 4 night minimum stay. A
non-refundable cleaning fee of $150 is required for a stay of any
length.
A deposit of 50% of the rental price is required to secure your
reservation, with the balance payable before your rental date. We
can accept cash, checks or Visa & Master Card. Deposits are
90% refundable until 6 months before the beginning of the reservation
period, and 50% refundable until 3 months before the reservation.
Because we must turn away other guests in order to secure your time
at the home, we cannot give deposit refunds for cancellations made
less than 3 months ahead of time. However, if we are able to rent
the house out to other guests during your canceled reservation period,
we will give you a 100% credit on your deposit for a future trip.
Hosted Trips
Custom hosted trips are available during selected parts of the
fishing season for those anglers who wish to concentrate only on
their fishing, and don't want to be bothered with arranging the
details for themselves. These special visits include home cooked
meals, fishing licences, flies and even streamside chauffeur service
by Tim and Karin or Dave Hutchins. If you think you may be interested
in our hosted trips, please contact us by phone or email for custom
arrangements and pricing.
Off
Season Rentals
Nearly all of our flyfishing clients are interested in the October
1- April 30 fishing season. However, if business or vacations take
you to the South Island during the May 1- September 30 off-season
period, and you would like to rent the home then, half-price off-season
rentals ($75 a night) are available. Some nearby rivers with mostly
rainbows are open for fishing until May 31, and most lakes and the
lower tidal ends of all the major rivers are open for fishing all
year. Austral winter is a prime time for estuarine sea-run brown
fishing. Other off-season activities include duck, pig, tahr, chamois
and deer hunting (we can introduce you to local guides), and the
skiing and snowboarding of the New Zealand Southern Alps.
